CRYSTAL BALL

About the band

Crystal Ball is a Swiss melodic hard-rock band. Its roots go back to 1995, when the members played as a cover band called Cherry Pie. As Crystal Ball they released their debut In The Beginning in 1999; after the second album Hard Impact (2000) and a tour with Pretty Maids, they signed with Nuclear Blast. With Virtual Empire (2002) and Hellvetia (2003) they toured Europe with Dokken, U.D.O., Doro, Krokus, Axxis and Pink Cream 69.

After Timewalker (2005), Secrets (2007, AFM Records) and a quieter period, the band returned in 2013 with new frontman Steven Mageney and the album Dawnbreaker. It was followed by LifeRider, featuring the duet “Eye To Eye” with Noora Louhimo (Battle Beast), Déjà-Voodoo (2016) and Crystallizer (2018), which reached number 18 in Switzerland and number 61 in Germany. The band has shared stages with the Scorpions, Thunder and Axel Rudi Pell, and played Rock the Ring alongside Deep Purple and Gotthard.

After Crysteria (2022), featuring guest Ronnie Romero (Rainbow, MSG), Crystal Ball release their twelfth studio album Reset with a refreshed line-up on 23 October 2026. The band is Steven Mageney (vocals), Scott Leach and Peter Berger (guitars), Chris Lauper (bass) and Mike “Mr. Killjoy” Fahrni (drums).
