About the band
Masterplan is an international melodic power-metal band founded in 2002 by former Helloween members — guitarist Roland Grapow and drummer Uli Kusch — together with Norwegian singer Jørn Lande. Their very debut Masterplan caused a major stir on the metal scene thanks to its blend of technically precise playing, strong melodies and Lande's distinctive vocals. That success was confirmed by the second album Aeronautics, after which Jørn temporarily left the band and was replaced by American singer Mike DiMeo (MKII, 2007).
In 2009 Jørn Lande returned to Masterplan, something fans had long hoped for. The following album Time to Be King (2010) built on the strength of the early recordings while showing a more mature, self-assured band with fresh energy. Masterplan thus carried on as one of the most respected acts in melodic power metal, known for epic melodies, precise production and a signature blend of modern sound with traditional metal aesthetics.
