About the band
Manimal is a Swedish heavy-metal band from Gothenburg, known for their modern, energetic style and vocal delivery reminiscent of legends like Judas Priest or Queensrÿche. After signing with AFM Records, they released their debut The Darkest Room in 2009, which reached number 36 on the Swedish charts and earned excellent reviews. The following album Trapped in the Shadows (2015) confirmed the band's growing reputation and drew attention partly thanks to a guest appearance by metal icon Udo Dirkschneider.
Manimal tour intensively — in 2016 and 2017 they completed extensive European tours alongside Orden Ogan, Almanac and Firewind. They launched their third album Purgatorio (2018) with a performance at ProgPower USA and continued with another European run with Bloodbound and Dynazty.
In 2021 came the fourth album Armageddon, after which the band celebrated 20 years of existence with a sold-out show in their hometown of Kungsbacka. Manimal regularly appear at major festivals such as Sweden Rock Festival and Sabaton Open Air, and years of touring have earned them a reputation as a powerful, tireless live band.
